Manhattan Housing Authority

Manhattan Housing Authority provides safe and affordable housing to income qualified applicants. This generally is any individual or family with income less than 80% AMI. The Housing Authority currently has five properties totaling 202 units, with efficiency, 1-, 2-, 3-, and 4-bedroom units. We also issue and manage nearly 300 Housing Choice Vouchers (commonly called Section 8).

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

A food assistance program that provides a debit card monthly supplement for purchasing nutritious food. There is an application form and income guidelines to qualify for the program. See the website for guidelines and how to apply.

Women, Infant, Children Supplemental Nutrition Program (WIC)

The WIC program offers an eWIc card that can be used to buy healthy food, personalized nutrition information and support for prenatal, postpartum, and children 0-5 years, tips for eating well to improve health Immunization, breastfeeding support, and referrals for services that can benefit the whole family.

Income guidelines: To be income eligible for WIC benefits, an economic unit (household) may earn up to and including 185% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
